We Believe...
We are a Bible believing Church. What God says, He means.
Therefore:
We teach and preach Christ crucified for the sin of the whole world, as the Apostles did.
We hold to the three Ecumenical Creeds t(Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian) as true confessions of the Word of God.
We subscribe boldly to the Unaltered Augsburg Confession of 1580 as a correct exposition of Holy Scripture, and
We believe that the Lord works in His Church, even today, bringing His forgiveness, won on the cross, to us.
On Holy Communion: (Please speak with the Pastor before communing)
Our Lord says in the 26th chapter of St. Matthew, "Take and eat. This is my Body." and "Drink of it, all of you; for this is my Blood." Believing these words, we eat and drink the very bread of heaven (John 6) in the Holy Communion, in and with the bread and wine. For Jesus, Himself, reveals to us by Faith His true Body and true Blood given at the Altar.
We also believe when the Word of God speaks to us and tells us to "examine ourselves" (1 Cor. 11) before receiving the true Body and true Blood of Christ. For, "whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the Body and Blood of the Lord." Accordingly, we observe the loving and historic practice of closed communion, wishing that all would believe and have faith in the words, "given and shed for the forgiveness of sins".
So, for love of our neighbor that he should not eat and drink condemnation upon himself, we ask that those wishing to receive the Body and Blood of Christ, would please speak to the Pastor BEFORE the Service.
Those who are communicant members in good standing with a sister LCMS church or whose church is in full confessional fellowship with them, are encouraged to receive the Sacrament.
